Course Learning Outcomes

Applied Clinical Pharmacology for the Chiropractor

By the completion of the module, the practitioner will be able to;

1. Obtain clinical information from a list of medications.

2. Understand the possible side effects of chiropractic treatment by assessing the medication list.

3. Appraise a medication list and employ this an important clinical tool.

4. Be familiar with pain medication: dosages, side-effects and the pain staircase.

Tom Michielsen

Tom works as a chiropractor in a private group practice in Mol and Turnhout, Belgium. In 1998, he got his degree in medicine from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. He graduated from AECC in 2001 as valedictorian. From 2008 until 2013, he was the chairman of the ECU research fund. In 2016, he was appointed as a member of the academic advisory committee of the European Chiropractic Centre for Research Excellence (ECCRE). From 2015 until 2019, he was the vice president of the Belgian Chiropractic Union. Tom is the chairman of the European Academy of Chiropractic since 2017.
