Course Learning Outcomes

Applied Clinical Pharmacology for the Chiropractor

By the completion of the module, the practitioner will be able to;

1. Identify the relationship between objectively measured physical behavior and neck and low back pain.

2. To get acquainted with the principles of changing pain sensitivity and biomechanics in relation to responder status in patients with chronic low back pain receiving SMT.

3. Recognise the results of 10 years reporting on the online incident reporting and learning system.

Rikke Kruger Jensen

Rikke Krüger Jensen is Senior Researcher at the Chiropractic Knowledge Hub and Associate Professor at the Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark (SDU). Her research focuses on musculoskeletal health with a special interest in clinical research and recently with a larger focus on primary care.

Kristina Boe Dissing

Kristina Boe Dissing is Senior Researcher at the Chiropractic Knowledge Hub and a chiropractor in private practice. Her research focuses on musculoskeletal health and clinical research, recently with a focus on patients with headache in chiropractic practice. Besides that, her research embraces children with spinal pain and headache.

Corrie Myburgh

Corrie Myburgh (CM) (Assoc. Prof. Univ. of Southern Denmark: Inst. of Clinical Biomechanics). CM is a South-African born chiropractor who holds a PhD in Social Science Research Methods. Corrie's research focus areas include qualitative research methods, interprofessional education and interprofessional practice. Corrie is particularly engaged in athletic health care and performance practice. Corrie is currently completing a Master's degree in Medical Education.

Cecilie K. Øverås

Cecilie K. Øverås is a PhD Fellow at SDU, Denmark with place of duty at NTNU, Norway. She graduated from AECC, UK in 2000 and also holds a MSc in Diagnostic Ultrasound (MSK) from AECC (2015). The overall aim of her PhD is to determine the prevalence, patterns, consequences, and predictors of co-occurring musculoskeletal pain in adults reporting spinal pain based on data from the Norwegian HUNT Study. At NTNU she has had the opportunity to be involved with two EU-funded research projects- BackUP and selfBACK. She is announced as one of the new CARL II early career research fellows.
