Course Learning Outcomes

Applied Clinical Pharmacology for the Chiropractor

By the completion of the module, the practitioner will be able to;

1. Understand the general values of the term “Value based healthcare delivery”.

2. Get an understanding of why this is an area in healthcare that can be of benefit for the chiropractic healthcare provider.

3. Provide knowledge of what is needed in creating an interprofessional collaboration among healthcare providers.

4. Get to understand some of the advantages and/or disadvantages in interprofessional collaboration.

Jamiu Busari

Jamiu Busari is an associate professor of medical education at Maastricht University, a general paediatrician and the immediate past Department Chair and Program Director of the specialist training program at the Department of Paediatrics, Zuyderland Medical Centre, Netherlands. Born in England and African by heritage, Jamiu has lived and studied in England, Nigeria, Curacao, Netherlands, Canada and the United States. His personal and professional approach to life is defined by his exposure to diverse cultural backgrounds. Jamiu is a Maastricht University alumnus, a Harvard Macy Scholar and a HBS executive education graduate in Managing Health Care Delivery. He is an executive board member of the Netherlands Association for Medical Education (NVMO) and a founding member of ‘sanokondu’ (an international community of practice dedicated to fostering health professional leadership education worldwide) www.sanokondu.com. His activities as a physician leader and educational expert include his advisory roles to various healthcare and educational organizations within and outside the Netherlands. These include previous advisor to the European Respiratory Society (HERMES projects) and the Dutch Antillean national council for public health. He is currently an advisor to EUROSPINE (Eurospine diploma in interprofessional spine care) www.eurospine.org. Jamiu is a public speaker, writer, educator and health care leader. He is a recipient of various awards including the Educational Leadership Award (2015), Clinician of the Year award (2015) the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada international Residency Educator Award (2016) and the Choice critics award (2017). Jamiu is a fervent advocate for diversity, compassionate care, and social accountability to the less privileged in society.
